A man has been charged with the murder of two people who were found stabbed to death in northwest Sydney in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Just before 5am, emergency services were called to a home on Illabo Street, Quakers Hill, after neighbours called police reporting a loud disturbance.
Officers arrived to find a critically injured man, aged 30, on the footpath in front of the property and a 38-year-old woman dead inside the kitchen of the home.
Both were located with multiple stab wounds.
The female victim has been identified as Anaseini Waqavuki and was being mourned by the Fijian community on social media.
The injured man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.
He died about 9am, according to NSW Police.
A 47-year-old man, who is known to police, was arrested after attending Blacktown Police Station at about 5.30am.
He has since been charged with two counts of murder.
The man was refused bail and is expected to face court on Monday.
Addressing media on Sunday, NSW Police Superintendent Jason Joyce said the incident appeared to be domestic violence-related.
“We believe that the deceased female and deceased male were in a relationship,” he said.
